We had a thread recently asking if Dave was still around.

I did some internet searching after I called his number and it was now someone else's.

I haven't been able to locate an obituary but I did find a record with his county in Omak WA showing that his house was sold recently and it states that the Estate of Dave was the one that sold it so sadly that leads me to believe that Dave is no longer with us.

This Thanksgiving please say a prayer or have a thought about Dave if he made a difference in your life. Additionally, let this be a reminder of how life is short so enjoy and appreciate everything we all have every day.

Sorry for the gloom before Thanksgiving.
I have been away for a while and on returning I am really sorry to hear about Dave. A lot of knowledge and experience lost to us all. RIP Dave.

The awesome thing about this forum, is everything Dave ever did to help people is saved for future members to benefit from by using the search function.

I miss Dave, as well, Dave and I were polar opposites. He started in on me about the way I cook is unsafe. I'd laugh about it, which would really get under his skin. What Dave didn't know about me, was my family has been in the restaurant biz for close to 100 yrs, both here in the US and in Sicily, I learned to cook from some amazing Chefs, mainly family members. Once we got to know each other a little better, he would ask me about the way I would make things, then he would explain why it worked, in the most technical terms I've ever heard. Once Dave and I understood each other, we found that we had more in common than we had ever expected, and that good food was only a small part of it. I miss that old codger, the man had a gigantic heart, once you got past his rough edges, and his hardass persona.

Dan.
