We had a thread recently asking if Dave was still around.

I did some internet searching after I called his number and it was now someone else's.

I haven't been able to locate an obituary but I did find a record with his county in Omak WA showing that his house was sold recently and it states that the Estate of Dave was the one that sold it so sadly that leads me to believe that Dave is no longer with us.

This Thanksgiving please say a prayer or have a thought about Dave if he made a difference in your life. Additionally, let this be a reminder of how life is short so enjoy and appreciate everything we all have every day.

Sorry for the gloom before Thanksgiving.

Having just gone through this with my dad's house sadly that is very likely what that means.

Rest in peace brother Dave. He not only taught me a lot but he cleared a lot of muddy water for me as well. I hope I can be as generous with knowledge as he was as a way to pay it forward.

So sorry to hear about Daveomak... SH*T. He was one of the first members I connected with. He guided my early ears of smoking quite a bit, hooked me up on some equipment deals and so on. I always felt he was a very good man. Lots of heart and strong feeling about food safety.

I will pray for him and his family. I will miss him knowing we wont hear from him again.

thank you for doing the research Brian.

RIP Dave ........... he helped me seal up the cook chamber on my Old Country Brazos. Suggested using clamps and it worked like a charm.

RIP Dave. He was always quick with an answer and some were so in-depth I would sometimes have to PM him with questions (which he enjoyed).

The daveomak injectable curing brine & technique for shoulder hams, loins, etc. was a total game changer for me. The first time I tried it, I followed it to a T as he suggested, and it's been my go-to method since then.

This is one of my favorite threads where Dave chimes in on post #3 and then hits it out of the park in post #5.

Damn, Dave O was an institution around here and will be sorely missed. RIP, bro, and prayers out to your family.
