Not finished. But I had to show. There are 7 strips of wood on this. They blended pretty darn well if I do say so myself!

I want to add something about the “curl” in the wood you are working with. A few years ago, when we bought our house, we had our natural hard wood floors refinished. The carpenter that was doing the work said, “ You have a lot of “rift wood”. I asked, “what is rift wood?” He said the curls of the wood.

Learned something new that day!

Nice looking floor! It's funny. If I go to buy curly Maple. It's $$$. But when I buy Maple through my supplier. I usually get a few pieces mixed in at normal price. Not complaining mind you!

I found a site where you can buy roughly 20 pounds of assorted pieces of hardwood for projects. You don't know exactly what you get. Just rough measurements of the lumber. This bunch had some nice ash, cherry, walnut. And a piece of wood that is either purple heart. Or padauk. Or the deepest red cherry I've ever seen! Either way. I glued it up with some walnut. I love the results!

Steve, I'm late as usual, but those look great! Nice work. I'm completely untalented when it comes to woodwork, much respect.

Could be either one . I was at the hardwood yard this morning . Looks like Padauk , but is a bit more red . Whatever it is , it's nice . They had a new stack of purple heart . Not sure I get the attraction there .
Ran a bunch of cherry through the planer . Went to put the hose back on the sander and got a surprise . To many gates open I guess . Clean no glue , so I bagged it up .
