too funny Dirt guy.... ahh the good ole days!!!!

Now I got a wood shop so cluttered I can't even use half my machines or I could pump these type of boards out twice a week!!!
Got to get me a new house with a barn...

Oak works really well too. Really, any hard wood should perform well for you.

Oak is hard but the grain is a little too porous for my liking...
A very pretty combination of color and equal hardness with closed cells would be something like:

Hard maple
Hickory
Bloodwood
Several types of [font=arial, verdana, helvetica]Mahogany
[/font][font=arial, verdana, helvetica]Walnut Tiger's Eye[/font]
