I am upgrading from a KA grinder. I only "need" a #8, but I'll end up getting the #12 or #22.

I'm going back and forth between LEM And Meat!. Does anyone know if the spindles are cross-compatible with Cabelas in case I get coupons or gift cards and want to hook up to their mixers, head attachments, and other accessories?

Also, if anyone happens to have long term experience with both LEM and Meat! I would like to hear your thoughts between the two. I went looking at units today and saw Meat! in stock at both Cabela's and Academy Sports.

Texas, I'm bumping your thread so hopefully you'll get some feedback.

Here are a few posts related to LEM grinders: https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/search/8737610/?q=LEM+grinder&o=relevance

I also sent LEM an email and asked if they might provide an SMF-user exclusive discount code. We'll see, doesn't hurt to ask! :emoji_wink:

I run LEM not much cross over experience but I would suggest you find a quality company that has all the accessories you want and stay with that brand. Walton’s Meat is another good brand and supply store to check out .

Also if you are serious about a meat mixer hooked up to your grinder motor be very sure you buy a grinder with reverse capabilities. Mixers need to run forward and reverse for a quality mix, some grinders have that and some don’t.

LEM emailed me back and said they might be able to do a limited time 20% off discount for SMF users. I'll get back with details as soon as I have them, but in the meantime texasdude texasdude if you're leaning LEM: hold off for the code. :emoji_wink:✌️

LEM is a solid company. I have their equipment and it’s very good.

I’ve got a LEM #8, jerky/tenderizer,patty maker, mixer, and definitely get the foot pedal. I use it a couple times a year to run 40-60 lbs of meat. Rock solid product. The Cabela #8 replacement parts have worked fine, just a new knife and different diameter plate between the coarse and fine that come with the machine.
