Don't bother with a BB gun, all it does is piss them off (been there, done that). They are one tough critter. The 22 pellet gun may do the trick. We had one take up residence under my garage a couple of months ago. We used a live trap. It took about a week, but we finally got it. My wife used grapes the first few days but somehow he outsmarted the trap and escaped with the grapes. Next we tried frozen green beans. They sat in the trap for 3 days until we finally caught him/her. I called my nephew(avid hunter) and he came over and disposed of the pest for us with a pistol as I was on crutches at the time. I was glad to get rid of him as he was undermining my new garage floor. I must say to the groundhogs credit however, he did do a fine job of spreading out the dirt he pulled out. To bad I couldn't train him to till up the yard for me.

If you have a .22 rifle that will shoot shorts you can use it with a baby nipple over the barrel and nobody will hear it

i always heard a long-rifle will also shoot longs and shorts; a long will shoot longs and shorts; and a short will only shoot shorts. is this not correct?

Disposeing of the remains would be a real issue, however, we used the exhaust from "A" vehicle, the "A" means any type vehicle you can get to the shed, even a lawn mower, direct the exhaust by a dryer hose (or =) and let it run for 15 minutes. He will either come running out or die.

Old farm raised kid here, we did what we had to.

I think the grenade and carrot stick would be a tad cheaper as well
