So I went shopping yesterday and got all the fixins for a good sunday smoke.

7Lbs Butt, 20 ABTs, and a 2 Lbs Fatty. Were having a Birthday party at the house today and I figured that would be a great addition to the normal dogs and burgers.

So their I am all excited yesterday evening, prepping up the food and the g/f walks in and says hey whatcha doing? I told her I was prepping up some stuff for smoking the next day.

And then she drops it on me. Her grandmother is coming in this AM and has COPD and asthma and can't be around the smoke. :(

So now I have 20 ABTs, a 2Lbs Fatty with Cooper Sharp, and Proscuitto Wrapped in Hickory Slab Bacon, and a 7 Lbs Butt rubbed down with Jeff's just sitting in the chill chest bored out of their mind.

What's a man to do I tell ya?!?!

Mike

Take the smoker to a friends that lives close and smoke away. She probably can't be around the smoke but would love the food.

Grandma should stay out of the smoke! You ain't smokin in yer livin room are ya!?! Just kiddin... Would rather have gramdma over without smoke than smoke without grandma! But Dang! ya don't get to smoke!

Look on the bright side Maverick,

The Japs were from Mexico and you all would have consumed E Coli and become very sick, enough to vow to the porcelain god, that you will abstain from smoking the rest or your life should you come through the ordeal in a state greater than that of a vegetable.

Give Grandma a hug, and drink heavily, it makes my visits with the in laws more tolerable

My wife has COPD. If it starts to bother her she goes in the house. End of the problem.

I'd try some big box fans near the smoker, pushing the smoke my way.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE~~~~

Fatty and ABTs are on the smoker. My brother in Law and I carried the smoker through the house and out to the front yard, Grandma is in the Back. ;)

K, the japs are from USA, everything will be fine, Just drink heavily. Glad to hear you are up and running. dont forget the Q view

The Q view will be of the finished product only. I got so bummed after I got the Grandma news that I forgot to take pics.

Mike

Mike, Interesting info as I have asthma (mild case since forever) but smoke won't upset it like my allergies or a cold will.

Glad you arrived at a solution.

I have COPD and Asthma myself. I do just fine around the smoker, and I use a wood burner. I can hold my breath for a good while when I look inside, or have to turn stuff. It does bother me around folks who smoke cigars and chain smoke cigarettes though, if I am in a confined area.

Advair has been a long time friend of mine!

Its very considerate of you to move the smoker for granny. It would have been nice if your g/f would have mentioned it a lil more ahead of time.

And here's the Q-View as promised. Only four ABTs left out of the 20. And about 1/4 Lbs of Fatty left for me to snack on tomorrow.

Great fatties, I gotta learn that bacon weave! Gene gave a great pictorial I'll be referring to soon!

Nice job Mike,

That's Gene's Weave, It's perfect and I think minimizes the possibility of a blow out.
