Clearance time at Wallyworld

Lots of grill stuff on clearance at my local wallyworld. Killer Hogs and BluesHog rubs for $5. Lots of Blackstone utensils, presses, thermometers, grill covers etc…

I've never seen grills nor grill stuff in our Wallyworld. Is it in the garden area? About the only part of the store I don't frequent.

I found the grill area of the Walmart today. Have to say I wasn't too impressed with it overall but I did get a few things. The one thing I was really hoping to find was an instant temp thermometer and they had a Thermopro marked down. The other stuff I wasn't looking for but got a couple of meat shears and basting brushes. Heck, they were only 97 cents each and said why not? Lots of griddle stuff that I already have and didn't need more. Thanks to the OP for posting this up. I saved a few bucks on the Thermopro and got the extra other stuff as I usually can't find when I need them.

I have a handful of these as I hate it when they are all in the dishwasher, and I need another. The only downside of these is that the heads like to come off too easily. But, nothing that a drill and an appropriately sized rivet cannot solve.

I got a ThermoPro for a killer price a couple years ago. Outside of that I don't shop. I don't purchase any seasonings or rubs as they have too much salt or sugar.

The only time I use an instant thermo is when I get thick pork chops. I eye ball every thing else on the grill. Always cut a slit in chicen and pork chops that I don't consider thick. Figured I can use the new thermo pro now. I do use the probe type thermos when smoking on most stuff, though.

I was there last week and needed a small hand shovel. Why is Christmas stuff there already?

I did find where they moved it to and got a $9 stainless one marked down to $5 so it was a win.

I didn't think to look at BBQ stuff but will see what they still have on Monday.

I was just thinking that it was about this time in 2008 that I bought my first smoker from Walmart. A cheapo horizontal that leaked heat & smoke like a sieve. I learned a lot by making all kinds of modifications, until it worked pretty well. Then I decided that I didn't like babysitting it all night long when smoking large chunks of meat. Got rid of it and bought something else (I think it was my first Masterbuilt-30"). But I fell into the love of smoking my own foods, and sharing it with family and friends. And later I met many friends and mentors on this website, when I was building my own commercial fridge smoker.
So I guess I owe Wallyworld a thank you for bringing smoking enlightenment, and a hobby that I truly enjoy.
