I'm a really big fan of fresh Okra.
That with grilled yardbird is a fine meal. Mmmm... Okra!
I even love it stewed in all it's sliminess.

What's "yardbird" Chile, that like a tater? I've never had okra, but I eat a lot of asparagus, spinach, and zucchini. Who's kidding who, vegetables aren't food, vegetables are what food eats. RAY

BTW Gary, nice setup and yard!

LOL... Yardbird is chicken.

A slang term for the common chicken, generally after being prepared as a meal.

Looks great. It’s been a long time since I’ve had okra. How’s the texture grilled? Kinda have the munchies for it now.

I gotta find some fresh okra and pickle it, spicy hot.
Must do some Frog's Balls too.
And I'm out of pickled eggs.
And

Just went to the frig to find our supply of pickled eggs was empty!! Gotta have more lol. Pickled hot okra sounds excellent.

My thought exacty! I can do Cornmeal Breaded and Fried Okra but this guy Don't Do Slimy Food! It is a Texture Phobia. No Nuts in Cake, No Chocolate Chips in Ice Cream, No Coconut in Ambrosia! I will eat any of these ingredient separately or in other preparations but in the above combo's it's like biting Egg Shell in Scrambled Eggs. YUK!...JJ

Can’t comment on your okra as I have never heard of it until I read on the forums BUT I can say you have a great vege patch and a BBQ outlook with your healthy looking lawn. Very nice.

We used to live in rainforest area, we moved for work reasons, now we live in a desert and really appreciate a nice yard like yours.

Thanks Guys, Next time you grill anything, just give it a try. Grill a few and see what you think, you will probably say "Damn, I wish I would have grilled more"
NOT SLIMY texture is really good. We found that any veggie you cook is better on the grill.
Be interesting to see how many of you really like the grilled okra, let me know.

Gary

Love doing grilled okra! I don’t get to make it often because it’s not always available, I don’t think it’s slimy at all grilled.

That Chicken Looks Great Gary!!
I can't say much about the Okra, because I haven't had any in over 70 years.
It doesn't matter though, because I'd easily settle for a plate of that chicken!!
Garden's looking Great as always!
Like.

Since childhood, fried okra has been my favorite out of the garden vegetable. What's strange is I despise stewed or pickled okra? I have never thought about smoking it. When done, what is the texture like. Do you apply any olive oil? Thanks
