CharGriller SFB ash drawer problems

Hey All,

I am having an interesting issue with my SFB and I am wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and how hey resolved it.

Since I pulled the CG out in the Sping, my ash pan/tray has been a b#$#^ to pull out.  I noticed scratches on the pan itself with new ones each time I pull it out.  A few weeks ago,  I was doing about a 36hr burn smoking different meats for the extended family and each time it came to empty the ash pan it took two people to hold the grill in place while I pulled the tray out. 

I know it may sound excessive, but we tried cinder blocks and bricks to stop the CG from moving while I pull the tray out but that didn't work the CG just dragged through them.

Except for replacing the SFB any other thoughts?

I had a similar problem when my CGSP was new.  I solved it by GENTLY bending the guide rails inside the SFB upwards a VERY SMALL amount.  The tray slides like greased lightning now.  Be care full because the welds on the rails are fragile.
