I've been searching this site for awahile and can't seem to find what I'm looking for so here it goes! Here's the smoker I have http://www.charbroil.com/propane-gas-smoker, and the food comes out great and I love it but I seem to have a hard time really getting it to billow smoke, some of the cooking time it's great, and a lot of it it's not producing that much smoke. I soak my chips for roughly 15-20 min and usually add some more throughout the smoke. Anybody have any ideas, suggestions, or mods to help this?

You don't want billowing smoke you want TBS (thin blue smoke) this smoke can't always be seen.

There is no need to soak wood chips. Try using chunks, 2"-3" pieces.

I guess billowing was the wrong word, it does have that tbs affect sometimes but most of the time not even that, I will Definitely give wood chunks and no soak a try!

As long as you can smell the smoke you are ok. You don't necessarily have to see it.
