Wife and I traveled with 12 other fishing buddies down to Las Barrilles, Mexico this past week to do some Tuna and whatever else we could find for two days. Stay at the Hotel Palmas De Cortez fishing resort. Had a ball and gained lots of weight. Though the Tuna was not very plentiful, at least the wife showed us how to find and bring one in which we kept. We caught another one the next day. On the first day we hooked up with two Marlin's which we had already agreed to let go for they're not too plentiful. I had one of them but as we were pulling it up into the boat, it wiggled free and it took off.

Next day, I hooked up with another (seen below) as we were able to bring in for a quick photo shoot. Gave it a kiss and off it went. Had a wonderful time, but next time, we are going to stay a little longer.

Sounds like a great time.  That marlin is one beautiful fish!!!!!!!

The resort looks real nice too.  All we've had for the last 24 hours is cold and rain.  I have a roaring fire in the fireplace right now.  I could use some of that Mexican sunshine that you're enjoying.   Have a great time and catch some more fish.

I know how much fun it is----I only ever went Deep Sea Fishing one time, and one of my fish was a 241 pound Blue Marlin.

That was back in 1970, off Oahu.  What a time!!  I was 20 years old.

Congrats!!!

Wow Craig, that looks awesome. Do you eat the tuna? I love sushi and fresh fish.

I would love to go there sometime, I am jealous of a trip like that.

When my my kids college bills get finished I am going to do some of that!

Thanks for sharing with us! Point!

Yes, the Tuna we eat.   We let the Marlin go.  Now, all I need to do is to find a good smoked Tuna recipe.

Looks like a great time! How long did it take to get the Marlin in? Bet it was a fun battle!

About 25 minutes
Just like the salmon you do! Please say you got the bellies. They make the best tuna jerky!
Actually gave our bellies to one of our fishing buddies who won the coin toss.   Had I known.....LOL
