Can't beat Tillamook cheese. Their 2014 Maker's Reserve Extra Sharp Cheddar was named World's Best in 2024.

HOW YOU GONNA BEAT A NORTHWOODS TRAILER TO STAY IN AND A BIG AGED RIBEYE TO EAT? YOU'RE NOT SUFFERING CIVIL, THAT'S FOR SURE! WE USED TO GO UP TO WINCHESTER BAY TO STAY AT SALMON HARBOR RV PARK FOR A COUPLE WEEKS THIS TIME OF YEAR, PICKIN' DUNGEES EVERY DAY UNTIL MY HANDS WERE TIRED. THEN GO UP TO LINCOLN CITY, DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. NICE WORK!
It’s called a vacation!!!! Ie no hotel to deal with or a crowded restaurant just peace and more peace! Oh the “crabers” are out in force at the moment! With it being the “winter” season the are virtually no crazy crowds, mostly people with a purpose, salmon, crabs, relaxing! Lol.

This is our 4th northwoods trailer over 30 years. They are the only one that holds up to what we put them through! We did have a 5 year bout with the old school lance truck campers when we were heavy into jet boating, but right back to the NW trailer! When we got this one we got 80% paid for value on trade in after 6 years. The “savings” over a hotel and eat out were we go is mind blowing!

Oh you know it! We first when to the factory 32 years ago…..the the cheese factory was just a cart with a few flavors of ice cream….a worker would leave the factory floor and make a waffle cone and that was it…..they had glass windows and you could watch them make cheese……today, just wow huge crowds and massive tourist destination! They still have the OG cart as an exhibit but most people just walk right past it…..

We were here and I saw that cheese but got the 6 years old stuff. I couldn’t pass up the 11 year stuff this time and like I said it’s like no other aged cheddar I’ve had and I’ve had a lot, this is hands down the BEST. You don’t need anything to go with it….. just cheese and a nectar is heaven on the taste buds!

My mom grew up there, and when we would visit my grandparents, we'd always go to the Tillamook cheese factory. Back then (late 60's before they made ice cream), they would take you on a tour past all the troughs and fermenters so you could look inside.. No sneeze guards in those days. My parents still live there, in fact I'm going down to visit next month.

What a place and time to grow up the history of the area is just really cool! I’m sure you have been to the Air Museum….so sad it’s now closed due to the storm damage to the roof. We have been there soo many times!

Tillamook cheese has done well!

PS we have had 68-70 blue sky days all but 4 hours of a little rain….have NEVER had such sunny warm weather here!

Just found out that the Port of Tillamook Bay approved the future sale of Hanger B to a 501c based in Utah. They have started or are about to start repairs of the hanger roof. The non-profit is going to transfer all their vintage aircraft to the hanger and expand the museum! So freaking cool!!!

This baby will be viewable again soon!!! I never get tired of taking pics and walking around it! These pics are from the spring of 2024 about 5 months before it had to close due to damage from a storm…..

Yep, there used to be 2nd blimp hanger out there. I think it fell or burned down several years ago.
Wild to think that our coast was being patrolled by blimps during WWII.
