South Louisiana-Yes, it is HOT
It is best to calibrate your RH% controller every 6 months for accuracy. The sensor can float over time from debris and mold on the sensor. I use the Boveda Humidor calibration packs. They come in a range of RH%; I use the 75%.

First- I keep a spare Inkbird RH% controller on hand...just in case one flips out on me. Cheap insurance @$40 per unit. What I do is calibrate that controller so it is spot on @75*F; 75%RH. Just adjust the offset on the controller so it is accurate. Then, I place the sensor of this controller right next to the one in use in my chamber, facing the same direction, same height level and all. Let it settle and adjust for about an hour or so. When conditions in the chamber are stable (usually right before high temp. set point is reached) I note the difference between the spare controller (control) and the existing controller in use hanging in my chamber(test); then I make an adjustment to the offset on the existing controller so it reads the same as the spare. Done.

Doing it this way, you do not have to remove your main unit from your chamber an place the sensor in a container with the calibration pack, you just shadow off another controller.

Having a spare is a good idea what all spare parts do you keep for your chamber? I don't have a chamber yet but would be nice to figure out what spare stuff I need when I get ready.

I keep a spare of the main components...RH controller, Temp controller, Humidifier, dehumidifier. I bought a 12pk. of the boveda calibration packs.
