Cajun injector smoke

It’s a Cajun injector 2 door smoker. Here my problem. First time I used worked perfect. Second time I used it towards the end of the cook time. It stoped smoking. Third time today turned it on added chips smoked it butt off added more chip stopped smoking.
The only way I could get it to start smoking was to turn the temperature up to 225 plus. Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Unless your smoking sausage or bacon, there is really no need to run your smoker below 225.
If you want to run it at lower temps then I would suggest you get an Amazen smoke generator.
Either the tube or tray.

I was smoking sausage so I needed the lower temp. Not the first time Ive smoked sausage in this smoker. Last time I didn’t have any issues keeping the smoke rolling. At lower temperatures

what were your outdoor temps? the closer the internal temp is to the outside temp the harder it will be to get a draft and that will make it harder for the unit to pull in fresh O2 for combustion of the chips. I am just guessing here, but maybe that has something to do with it?

Jimmy if I have this trouble again are you saying it’s possible to put a fan at the door where you insert the chips. That would give it a draft and the wood chip may smoke ? If so I will try that next time

that might be to much air and just cause them to burst into flame. I am just wondering if you are getting enough warm air moving up the smoker when you are running cooler temps to keep the chips smoldering nicely. I think this is the reason most guys running electric smokers for lower temps like sausage will typically opt for some sort of separate smoke generator like the amazen products.

are you running with your top vents wide open? if not try that, a good vertical draft is essential in maintaining good smoke.

Top vent wide open. Contacted the company this evening they have horrible costumer service. I was told the company had a owner die the other owner sold the company. They closing shops down laying people off. And no solution to my problem. And that’s from their tech guy. Ps he told me they can’t even get parts to build smokers.
They won’t be around much longer. Thank god I started building my smokehouse
