Anyone done any of these lately? Have a couple 3# I'm going to throw into the Christmas menu ( for sandwiches later). Was going to do some lower temp 225°for about 1 hr for enhanced smoke and then crank it up to about 365-375°. Will be injecting with Tony C , and doing on pellet grill. What can I expect time wise to reach about 170° internal ? Thanks in advance...

I like smoking these turkey roasts quite a bit. Time will vary but 3.5-4 hours at 230-240F is where mine typically finish. I like mine as sandwiches too and turkey salad sandwiches!

There’s really no need to crank up the heat on these since there’s not much skin on them to try crisping up. They’re a few pieces of turkey breast bound together in netting. Smoking them 225-275 until your desired IT is fine.

Well I smoked a 22lbs turkey on smoke for 3 hrs, I hit 117 in the breast, put it in a roasting bag and finished in about 90 minutes. I used creole butter, probably the best 1 I have ever cooked. used my pellet smoker,LJ comp and apple pellets.

First of all you are not going to want to take a turkey breast to 170 IT.
You should pull them off at about 157 & let them rest under a foil tent for 15-20 minutes. That will bring the IT up to about 165 & they will be very juicy & tender.
If you take them to 170 they will be all dried out.

I smoked one for the first time 2 months ago. I went on YouTube to Malcolm Reed's site and did a search for Smoked turkey breast. He has one for it. I did it exactly like he did to the T. It was great!

Super juicy, good flavor, tender and simple to do.

Your right Al, I looked again and it is just the breast roast . I was thinking it was the mixed white/dark roast, hence the 170° temp. Thank you...
