I'm smoking about 50 pounds for friends and family who've asked me for the goods[emoji]9786[/emoji][emoji]9786[/emoji]

My local store has it in 8-10 pound cuts. Does it matter if I smoke them whole or cut them into quarters? Max I normally smoke is about 5 pounds I'm wondering if the time will increase as well as the need to I crease the smoking temperature please advise

If they are bone in I would smoke them whole.

However if you cut them up, they will get done quicker.

Figure 2 hours per pound @ 225 for the largest piece.

So if you have 10 - 5 lb. pieces your looking at about 10 hours cook time.

Depending on outdoor temps (my area) and the type smoker you are running.

I have found that 1 9# butt or smoking 8 9# butts the time is damn near the same for cooking time.
