Brisket price

Finally got a multi probe thermometer and looking to do my first brisket soon. My local Kroger has choice brisket on sale this week for 2.99/lb. is that a good price for choice? I believe sale goes until end of Tuesday, so not sure what will be left. It’s inventory week at my work this week, so I’ll be working Saturday and Sunday as well (only time of year have to work a weekend) Sunday is usually only about 4-6 hours so thinking if I can pick one up I’ll throw it on the smoker before I go in.

I’m near Wichita Kansas too If that helps decide if it’s good or not, I know prices vary where you’re located

That’s a good price around me, they go from $2.99-6.99/lb here

Same here. The ones you find at say Kroger's or WM are usually terrible quality and 5.99/lb

Great price for my area. (Central, IL) normal price range here is 5.99 to 8.99, choice.

Is it a good price for what you can find from other sources?
How much fat cap? You can lose significant weight in the trim.
Best prices in my area is normally Sam's or Costco. Walmart is iffy.
Pre-trimmed are usually over priced.
Prices run $3-7 depending on the marketing.

That is a good price, we pay $3.50 per pound for Choice packers.
