Oh you TX people get all the beef deals. I can confidently say prime brisket here would be much more $$$

Of 6 grocery stores within a 1 hour drive walmart is the only one which is likely to have one, (most likely select), brisket. $4.50 per LB. On a good day they will have 2 to choose between. Don't believe I've ever seen three in the bin.

A couple of the "high end" stores will have a brisket or two, for at least a dollar a LB more, about every third time I visit.

Closest "Sam's", to me, is a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive.

That bin of brisket in, in Twil6' picture, just about brings me to tears.

Looked at prime brisket at Sam’s a couple weeks ago. $3.99 a pound. They had five in the bunker on the floor. Average 16lbs each. I would had to buy all five to get 10lbs of edible meat. They should have been embarrassed putting that stuff out for sale.

We have a small grocery meat shop near us. Young gal runs the meat department and she’s knowledgeable on meats. Had some very nice choice grade that looked very much like prime. Nice white fat cap. Didn’t need a lot of trimming and cooked up beautifully. But $5.49 a pound. Worth the price in my book. Brisket worth anything is never cheap around here.

Just wanted to report that Costco has USDA Prime whole brisket here in Maryland for $4.29. It's packed by Swift - I don't remember the brisket being packed by Swift before.

By comparison, I bought the same thing at the same place a year ago and the price was $5.49
