There is something about Walmart that I don't see mentioned here, which is why I stopped shopping there along time ago, but still shop at Kmart when needed...
The reason that Walmart no longer advertises "Made in America" is because they were caught in a lie. They would advertise that slogan on individual racks of clothing (As an example), have only one or two garments actually Made in America, and then the rest on the same rack elsewhere! They were actually defrading the public...
So at least at KMart, I know what I'm getting.
I applaud anybody who tries to support American products when possible, because when we don't, our middle class loses jobs with decent pay and benefits, which will effect our way of life.
I read in the paper more and more about companies taking away retirement benefits, or fighting in court to take money out of pension plans designed for the workers, even civil service jobs now, Sacramento County just took away health retirement benefits, for
all employees who haven't retired yet. These are measures managers are doing when faced with global competition.
So I believe when someone thinks they are saving a little by shopping at a cheaper store, in the long run they will be paying much much more.
