I've been cooking on a Lang 48 for 6 years. Time for an upgrade. Going with a 150 gallon Texas offset.I honestly never heard of them, but just looked them up and they are sweet looking!! I am shocked I never heard of them or seen their website. I thought I looked at just about every offset their was, lol!
Why not a larger Lang? Hard to improve on a Lang design IMOI've been cooking on a Lang 48 for 6 years. Time for an upgrade. Going with a 150 gallon Texas offset.

Sweet, good for you! I've was running an OKJ highland for about 8yrs. I finally broke down after years of back and forth with myself to justify costs and bought a WH 1975. I came to the conclusion I flat out love stick burning couldn't be happier with the pit. I am sure all pits in that class and metal thickness are amazing as well. Lang is top notch, hard to beat.I've been cooking on a Lang 48 for 6 years. Time for an upgrade. Going with a 150 gallon Texas offset.
I agree! There's so much to like about these pits. Spoke with the builder several times now. He's pretty amazing and very informative. Very customized. So far it's been a great experience. He's answered any and all questions . Very honest. I'll keep you posted.Just looked at their website. Those things wouldn't be out of place at a monster truck rally.
LOVE the Workhorse Pits. Also a pit that I was considering. Love everything about them, especially the cowboy firebox. It really came down to size for me. From what I was able to review, they're both upper echelon cookers.Sweet, good for you! I've was running an OKJ highland for about 8yrs. I saw that. It's definitely Boathouse I've been talking to on the phone. Appreciate it.Boathouse Smokers are seriously good stuff.
BUT...
BUT BUT BUT....
Make SURE you are communicating with THEM and THEM ALONE! CALL them on the phone, they have been the recipient of numerous scams lately. Lots of people put down 'deposits' on what they thought was a Boathouse smoker and found out later they were talking to someone completely unaffiliated with the company. So... make sure you are talking to THEM and THEM ALONE.
All that being said, really, really good stuff.
Hi !Are there ant Boathouse Smoker owners out there? Specifically their Texas offsets. Just looking for any info available .
Thanks. Any and all info is helpful when making such a large purchase. I have looked at Meadow Creek. Seems like he does some pretty nice work. Lots of options for the firebox. Very similar in builds and pricing. I like the smoke collector on Boathouse over Meadow Creek. I love the intake on Meadow Creek. Tough choice.Hi !
Looking at that Boathouse: it’s a beast!

Location: Lancaster Co , PA .
Might want to take a look?
Last weekend they had an open auction on many new and used units.
Hope this helps you ?
