Cant go out and do anything except shovel so might as well put something on the smokers. Started a little late as the original plan was going over to a friends house. Found a smaller pork lion end in the freezer and working to thaw it now. Going to season it and put it in the Pit Boss 340 (small I know but wanted to test one out before spending a ton of money on one). Thinking a blend of hickory and apple wood. Not sure how it will turn out but beats cleaning the house!

Hickory & Apple is a great combo! That loin will come out great!

15” of snow huh? We’re starting to get it here in Michigan. Not suppose to get much accumulation here just a bunch of freezing rain and icy roads from what I’ve seen. You can keep the snow and while your at it you can keep the icy roads to! :)

Roses are bloomin' in Texas! Born and brought up in NNY, moved at 46, 21 years ago, haven't been back since!

Photographer's car, my dad in the snowbank on the right, me in the truck way in back....! Been there, done that!

Pops... Around here that would be considered obscene to post those pics today! :)

Freezing rain and sleet here, only about 25*. Pops glad that isn't my car under that overhang.

I'm having a mini vaca at the moment. At Corning NY checking out the Corning museum of glass. Fantastic place. Though the drive home tomorrow might be interesting. Calling for up to 1/2" ice is some areas. Hopefully it will just be sleet that will melt off before I head home.

Ok got some seasoning on and going to start things up. Spicy mustard with a custom seasoning blend (meaning I didn't measure a darn thing).

Nothing but freezing rain on this side of the state. Cover's frozen down on the grill and smokers. Replaced the garbage disposal and having a beer deciding what kind of pizza to make for dinner.

Steve, I am currently enjoying a Rohrbach beer right now, got it up in that area visiting the wife's family. Oddegan, here is a picture right outside the garage.

Looks like a great day... For Christmas not April!

Doesn't look that bad here but you can hardly walk outside. Poor dog crashed and burned trying to take care of business during his after dinner constitutional. Shouldn't have laughed cause he's old. Firing up the oven for a chorizo and cheddar pizza while enjoying an M-43 IPA from Old Nation. Just going to wait for the power to go out.

One hour in, internal temp 115 per the igrill2. The pit boss is making crazy swings but I'm sticking with it. Almost dropped my beer when the lightening and thunder happened. Gotta love this state!

Sorry no finished qview... She who runs the house cut it up before I could get pictures. Turned out pretty good though.

I feel for you guys up North, but this should be the end of it!
We are supposed to get hit with strong thunderstorms & possible tornadoes today.
Glad you got your smoke in!
Al

Just got a note from my brother who lives in Minneapolis. 15" there as well. He originally was going to drive down to our little one-season cottage in southern Wisconsin and open it for the season. Milwaukee is having the same weather, so the cottage will have to wait.

Al, the fun part about living here is we got over 20 inches of snow at my place this weekend and next week we could have tornados!

Almost two years to the day from when this was started, it's April in Minnesota again. Time for another smoke session in a snow storm. This time boneless pork butt. Should be an interesting day again. (Hoping if I predict a bunch of snow it won't happen).

And it begins. Much less snow today than two years ago. Here is what I have going. Boneless pork butt.

I feel for you guys up North,

I was just thinking the exact same thing Al. Here in sunny Central Texas it's knocking on the door of 90 degrees and beautiful. A bit breezy but that's what Springtime is for. In another month we will be begging for that breeze when the triple digit temps hit.
