I just got back from Texas the other day but while we were there, we went to Black's Barbecue in Lockhart. Damn that was some good barbecue! The brisket was so moist and juicy and so was the dino rib. Everything was delicious. Mac and cheese, green beans, sweet tea plus the Lone Star beer I had with it. Definitely a great place! That was Texas barbecue right there!

I definitely will next time I visit there.

Black's is absolutely our favorite 'don't have to stand in line for 4 hours and hope there is meat left' BBQ spot.

My wife and I ate at Terry Black's in Austin a couple years ago on the way from Ft. Worth to Corpus Christi. My wife had sausage and two sides, and I had a beef rib with two sides. We each had iced tea as well.

Excellent BBQ, but the cost for two lunches was just under $100!

On any given day it can be a toss up between Black's, Smitty's, and Kreutz Market.
I have only been top Black's but the others will be on the list. My sister in law lives in La Vernia so we will be visiting again.
