It's about the 6th time I have smoked ribs but I have never seen this. Can anyone help me because I don't want to get sick if I eat it. There is another rack below this one and it looks normal.
I have no doubt that’s from your lid. Don’t panic though, I’m in Michigan and if you bring them over when their all finished i’ll taste 5-6 of them bones just to be sure!
As they said. You’ve got a creosote buildup on the inside of your lid. The humidity inside your smoker is making it drip on your food. Clean it up and it will go away. B
Its a million to one chance that its caused by a "tin plated" pan or plate. But you'll note the picture it does happen. I pulled my hair out till I figured my problem out. LOL
