I happened across this ad online while scoping out the upcoming madness that is Black Friday. Not a bad price though I imagine it was probably one of the earlier models. This got me to thinking perhaps I should keep an eye out for some BF deals on grilling and smoking equipment this year. Black Friday is usually a day of rest and fine beer consumption for me, but damn if this hobby hasn't gotten me to think of ways to save money while advancing my smoking arsenal and possibly venturing forth in to the BF madness for some deals.

That is one hell of a deal for a digital!

Great Price... Lots cheaper than the Bradley I got... and better too...

If you are thinking of buying this I would you go check out the reviews on this smoker. The heating element goes out in a short time frame 1-2 years and replacement is over $80.00. so if you smoke for this amount of time this would not be a good buy in my mind.

I bought this exact unit last year from BassPro on BF. I have gotten a great year's worth of smokes out of it, and it is working fine. Smoked beef ribs yesterday. I'm thinking about getting one for my mom for Christmas bc she always compliments the food that it puts out. Word of advice: get there early and get in line. The 24 or so that they had were gone 5 minutes after the doors opened.

Can you get it online for that? Or is it an in store only price?

Wow what a deal. Can those be used indoors as well? NVM, looking t pic again, I see it is on a deck, not indoors. the reason I asked is cause Winn Dixie uses indoor smokers for chicken.

FYI - on the black friday ads web site Lowes is going to have a meat slicer and meat grinder for $80 each.

Sorry folks, when I posted this, I forgot to mention that it was for the 2008 BlacK Friday, but when I looked at the site, it shows it listed for 2009?

I think this deal was from last year, according to this site:

Sorry if I led anyone astray!

FYI, I have a MES myself that I bought in April of this year and it's still going strong with a few tweaks here and there. I would buy one again, especially if I could get it at this price.

I bought an MES at last year's event.

We were in Austin for Thanksgiving, and got up at 3:00 for the trip to San Antonio's Bass Pro, and ended up in line at 5:15 am - behind about 150 people. At 6:00 the doors opened and believe it or not there was an orderly progression into the store. They only had 20 of them, and I got #18.

Rewired the heating element about 8 weeks ago - been working fine ever since!
