Hi Smoked Cookie Cuties!!!!

In honor of turning 44 tomorrow, I smoked a fabulous pizza with some buffalo mozzarella, Australian grass fed filet mignon steak, fresh basil, sauce from scratch, and then a gluten-free crust that was just exceptional!

ALL DETAILS POSTED IN THE BEEF SECTION OF THE FORUMS, and yet some fun sentiments shared here as well, with all my wino pals!

Happy Sunday!!!

Thanks for being a part of my birthday eve!!!

Until one's eaten 'smoked pizza,' they haven't lived, right??? Delicious stuff!

Cheers! - Leah

Happy Birthday Eve Leah!  Congrats on having the bubbly nature, culinary curiosity, and creative talent for making your words smile like those with the youngest of hearts!  Your birthday eve pizza looks AWESOME!

All my best wishes for the next exciting year of life.

Ray

Thank you so much Ray!

The best part of anything is sharing it, and I'm delighted for this site therefore, and all the people I've met on it!

Cheers and happy Sunday!!!! And thanks for being such a great part of this wine group as well! - Leah

Happy Early Birthday, Leah!!

Wow---2 years older than my Son!!!

Now that's my kinda Pizza!!

That's gotta be Awesome!!!

Bear

Thank you tons Bear!!! (And for being the great person who you are)!!!

This was my first 'smoked pizza' and I will admit to being hooked!

Also - put in a word locally about your shad roe, and nothing so far, but they are "checking," and so we'll see.

Thank you so much! Cheers!!! - Leah

Happy Birthday, Leah.

You deserve all the great food you make. However, I am upset that you are 44 as you don't look it. Obviously, the world should take up your diet!

Do things you love. Be around people who invigorate you. Be Happy!

Disco

Well thank you so much kind Disco!!!

That's very appreciated indeed; and coming from one of my favorite food bloggers and Canadian garlic growers too, I'll follow your orders quite wonderfully and go do something happy!!!

I'm VERY happy for this "gift" of a site, I must just say! (And our fun wine group, and the people like yourself)!!!

Indeed, becoming a smoker has changed my life!

Thanks very much!!! And happy Sunday!!! Cheers!!! - Leah

Thank you so much (Knuckle47) and with some familiar Vermont vernacular indeed!

I appreciate your sentiments greatly, and am so glad for your presence here in the wine group too, as it's so fun and you add so much!!!!

And, if I haven't told you lately, you DID change me forever with this "pistachio shell smoking chips method" and how grateful am I!

Thank you tons!!!!

Cheers! - Leah

Happy Birthday, Leah!!

Have a great day!
Clarissa

Oh Clarissa, thank you so much!!!

What a great age then indeed!!! Cheers to you!!!

I'm delighted you enjoyed the post - my first smoked pizza ever and it was a treat - and coming from someone as masterfully skilled with cuisine as you, I am mighty appreciative of those words!!!

Thanks very much! It's this site and people like you who make it such a daily gift!!!

Cheers!! - Leah

You know something Leah, you have been a source of energy to me. Reading your comments, posts and blog has been a reIgnition of my old fire. I've seen many acquaintances go from vibrant to bland in a few short years. They become their parents(yes cliche) but more so, these are the same rebels from the turbulent 1970s who've become the same stale stuffed and bloated individuals who vowed for change yet succumb to the routine of their predecessors.

Crappy plans, dull ideas and bland routines. I read your blog and say ...this roll of firecrackers just keeps firing away, it has fun and rarely politically correct. A word I absolutely abhor . I applaud you, enjoy you and envy your freedom . Hell, you even live where it states" live free or die". Life does become numbing to anyone not willing to take the trip to the edge occasionally, not recklessly but...to the edge.. I am thrilled to retain a vicarious position in my current life stage...the day will come when it's F off time but until then..... Light the fuse girl !!!

Sorry for the minimal philosophical peek into my head. Must the the Mateus and panama red flashback. keep your birthday just the day you were born and not ANY measure of what they say should be maturity

Maturity gets boring if you use it the wrong way

Good Morning and what a very wonderful message to wake up to!

Thank you (Knuckle47) so very much!

That you read my long and ranting blathering blogs is kind indeed, and that you appreciate them/me is entirely gracious!

I do believe "life is for the living" and that much of depression is a choice, and that being politically correct is often quite hypocritical and thus being authentic and true to self makes more sense to me.

But again, to even be able to exchange fodder with likeminded individuals is a gift in itself. Thank you therefore, for being who you are!

And happy new week to all!!!

Cheers!!! - Leah

OOPS!! Wish I'da been here to wish you a happy B'day young lady

but I was still looking for the right group of wine loving smoked meat, pizza and cheese eaters to hook up with..lol

Looks like I found ya ;) a special Thanks to You then for the invite and I hope you had a wonderful 44th!! (seems I did, but that was too many glasses of red ago to recollect rightly)

Well thank you so much 7sixtwoX3nine!

I'm delighted you found us, and as per my invite earlier, you are of course welcome indeed!!! Looks by your photo that you are a vino fan indeed! And did I read correctly that you make wine as well?

Regardless, feel free to start threads here, post in any of them, share photos, videos or words, and so forth! We have a lot of fun!

As for the birthday itself, it was lovely! I started with raw oysters and raw clams (which I gulp down with just freshly ground black pepper atop them and nothing else)...

and as I was shucking and gorging along, I slowed down long enough to take a quickie photo of a few anyway...

I love the raw clams the best, although the oysters are always good too!

And then I moved onto a perfectly grilled camel burger, (cold in the middle the way I like and yet seared well on the outer edges),

And then the following day it was simple grilled octopus over salad...

And then yesterday was a very quickie and simple grilled halibut steak over salad (I prefer halibut STEAK to fillet for some reason as it tastes so much better with the bones and all in it)!

The fish DID look all whole, pointy and nice, although I cut a good chunk off for my dogs' portion and thus the photo is a little funny...

Still healthful and delicious though!

And then today's dinner was just a plate of gluten-free spaghetti...

With steamed New Zealand Green Lip Mussels, sliced strawberries, chopped raw elephant garlic, chopped fresh basil...

And lots of Tunisian Olive Oil and then freshly ground black pepper and pink Himalayan sea salt...

And that was lovely!

And while some whole sardines - delicious heads and all - are on deck for grilling this weekend sometime, it must be time to smoke something again too and so here's to me doing that soon as well!

Meanwhile, I'm going without wine for 9 more days, and while I don't get the allure yet, I admire those who seem to do that all week regularly and so I'm trying it this one time as to see what happens???

OK, Cheers to all! Thanks for sharing in my simple but healthful food fun!

And welcome again, Sir 7sixtwoX3nine, and thank you for the birthday wishes indeed!

Happy Thursday to all! Cheers!!!!!! - Leah
