As I mentioned in another post, I am quickly approaching my first smoke on Christmas Eve!!  3 slabs of Baby Backs resting in the frig awaiting the touch of my gentle fingers!  Should I place them high, low, or in the center of the smoker??

I have a 40" Smoker and place them on the 3rd shelf from the top. I think others place them on the second shelf from the top, but not sure of that. Either place will work.

2nd or 3rd shelf for me. I dont like the top and the bottom is to close to the heat. Just my way.

If you have four cooking racks, place the slabs on racks 1-3. I never use rack 4 (lowest rack) because it's too close to the heating element.

And Merry Christmas to you, deerjohn!
