Maui, Hi.
Aloha All,

One of the temp probes on my faithful ET-73 may be on its way out.  On the last two Smokes i used it on, the probe that is connected to the Smoker port of the ET-73 would indicate an LLL reading when I placed it in the Smoke Vault.  I lit the Smoker and after a few minutes of it heating up the probe would then  seem to work as it should.  Today, I waited 30 minutes for the LLL reading to go away.  It never did.  So i used the probe that is normally connected to the Food port to take my smoker temp.  Is there anything I can try to repair the faulty probe before I break out the spare one that I ordered with my ET-73 five years ago.  Nothing wrong with the sender and receiver units.  They're both working fine.

Thanks

It may be worth your while to contact Maverick. I have done it with Taylor & Accu-rite & they both sent new probes, no questions asked. Didn't even have to send them the old probe.

Thanks Al....  I just wanted to know if there was anything else I could do before contacting them.  I know they have great customer service.  Two years ago the plastic switch on my receiver unit broke off.  I contacted them and explained.  They sent me a replacement and like you  I didn't have to send in the defective unit.

Hey Val!

Long Time No Hear!!

Break out the spare, and I bet you get another 5 years out of it......

Hi Todd,

Heh Heh...OK I'll break out the spare.  I've been working on a few projects around the house so my Smokes have been few, however those times that I do cold smoked bacon and cheese you can bet I'm using your Amazing product!  Take Care.....

Nice to see you back on the boards - we have missed your posts
