Had to give the old beer can chicken a try. Smoked this bird using my vortex as a shield. Added apple wood to my coals. Seasoned the bird with a SPOG base and Killer Hogs BBQ rub and injected with creole butter. Cooked for 90 mins until IT was 165 in the breast and 175 in the thigh. This was my first go at a whole chicken and it turned out pretty good. Presentation of the final product could have been better but I could not find my hot gloves so I used tongs and as you can see she fell apart. Oops . She still ate good.
