Ft Lauderdale.
earlier this week I posted that i got beef shoulder roast for $3.99/lb at Winn dixie. got one just short of 5lbs and one 3.5lbs. Mama got the big one for her carnita crock pot recipe for burritos. I think I'll be swinging thru WD again this weekend to see if there's any left. The other one i cut up and ground. did one coarse and one medium. All in 1.25lb vacuum bags for tacos or sloppy joes. definitely a good choice for grinding. burritos for supper.

Nice, no WD up here. When I need more grind I am going to hit up Restaurant depot and run some of the cuts there past everyone here like chopsaw chopsaw . I know they had beef clod and I have no idea what that was.

I've been smelling that dang crockpot with a whole one simmering all day. I better get a huge burrito pretty soon.

that is just cut up and ground. one pass medium plate.
It looks perfect . More fat in some of the leaner cuts than people realize . Works great for taco meat or pasta sauce .
I actually season the taco meat grind before I freeze it . I use a chorizo pre mix from AC Leggs .
Thaw and into the pan . Great flavor that way .

Temps are finally dropping here . Messed up when a high of 80 makes you think of soup of a crock pot cook .
I have a prime brisket flat I saved from a whole packer going in the crock on Sunday . Carrots , taters and onion . Also the mandatory dill pickle spear .

was thinking about pre seasoning the grind for tacos, but we might use for sloppy joes. i went and got another roast this morning while they're on sale. This one dedicated to tacos.

I'm getting my grinds crossed up .
I pre season pork butt grind with the Chorizo mix , not the beef . Seems to add something to the pork . I started using that for tacos when beef was hard to come by .

Looking good! Fun to see so many getting grinders and grinding your own! Good and bad of crock pots... easy way to cook but tough on a guy if you have to sit and smell it all day.
So you're saying you wouldn't like our in the 40 degrees range at night now?
