Is there any advantage/disadvantage to slicing these into individual ribs before smoking?

I've never done individual but I also lean towards the whole rack. This way you don't risk drying parts of all ribs and only risk the outside of the slab if it happens at all.

I’m with Chile and Tallbm, racks the way to go with less surface potential for drying out.

The only way I would separate them would be to wrap each rib in bacon.
Then you may have something special!!

Turned out quite well, still have to work on my seasoning. Too salty.

They look really good!
Yeah ribs of all kinds and briskets too can be over salted more easily than people think.
U will nail the seasoning next time and have perfect beef ribs :)
