I think Poor ole Bear is still confined to his ipad His Computer is in the Hospital

Gary

Pretty Grumpy when his Puter is down He is hoping to get it back tomorrow

Gary

Mine was in the hospital for two weeks for what should have taken a couple hours to fix. I had to call and use several impolite words to get them to do anything at all. Then I had to rebuild all my bookmarks, address books and everything that was linked to me as user - which was why I took in there in the first place. All they did was create a new user. Hell, I could do that and I am a dummy.

I have a great Computer Place, been using them for 15 years, even bought my last two laptops from them
Usually if I have a problem they have me fixed in a day, two days tops.

If you back up everything to the cloud you can get a new computer & just download all your stuff.
Never miss a beat!!

Getting my “MacBook Pro” back tomorrow.
We thought I downloaded a Virus, but that wasn’t it.
The Hard Drive had a bad spot on it.
They’re putting a new Hard Drive in IT right now——A Solid State one!!

Hopefully I’ll be flying low here tomorrow!!
You guys might not even see me, as I fly by!!!

I’ll be glad to give this POS back to Mrs Bear!!

Our big ones (iMac 27 & MiniMac) get backed up on our “Time Capsule”, but nothing gets backed up on my MacBook Pro. It should be better than ever with that new Solid State Hard Drive.
We’ll see!!

Don't fly to fast that 2 finger may not keep up.

Did You get a Hail Storm down there??
We just had one about 15 minutes ago.
Biggest I ever saw here, about a quarter size.
Only lasted about 5 minutes. Couldn’t hear Mrs Bear, and Smokey jumped off my lap & ran to our bedroom & hid under the Bed.

Inlaws had it in egypt, nothing in Laurys Station.

Yes a solid-state "hard drive" should be much better than spinning a mechanical disk.

Cloud storage has advantages but you have to be able to get to it, if it's still there.

Since computers were my business, just one quick note on solid state drives (SSDs).

Compared to traditional rotating mechanical disk drives they are better in most ways, but worse in a few other ways.

Better: MUCH faster read; lower power consumption; less heat generated (goes with low power consumption); much more rugged (more likely to survive a hard drop); weigh less; totally quiet.

Worse: Failure mode is not gradual: when it fails, you lose everything. By contrast rotating disk drives often fail gradually, and you almost always have the possibility of recovering some or all of the data, if you are willing to pay a data recovery service. Also worse: much more expensive for the same disk capacity, and really large capacities are still not available.

Solid state drives have fewer write cycles before failure than a rotating disk drive, but most of us will never reach that limit, so this one is more theoretical.

For a laptop or tablet, SSDs are the way to go.

Got it back----Got some bugs to work out, but it's really fast !!

I got some stuff to post, but I want to make sure it's working right before I try to load one with Pictures.

Maybe tomorrow morning.
