the adhoc mode makes it real easy to set up and get going. so far i have just warmed up the cooker and just threw on the meat. the one thing i did notice so far is the wifi signal is not that strong. out side with nothing in the way the signal starts to crap out at about 100 or so feet. and i cannot get it to work inside (probably due to metal garage doors) so i will have to find a new location to set the cooker or maybe next time set it up on infrastructure mode and see how that does. so far it works just as well as the dx2 i had before but i am not able to yet reap the benefits of the wifi. i will have to play with that a bit. on a plus side having extra temp probes is GREAT!!!

next observation is that i do not care what the manual says the second you receive any Guru product calibrate the probes. both my units were not calibrated correctly and the first use suffers because of that. not too big of a deal but i pretty much smoked at about 10-15 degrees cooler all day till i realized this and then had to crank up the heat at the end.
