I know some of you have been having some bad luck lately but here's mine
Hospitals suck I was in one from last Tuesday am till Friday about 8 pm and none of it was pleasant and I had to have a shocking time before I got out.
Monday I had to report for jury duty guess what selected to be on jury for a criminal case thankfully got done late Thursday afternoon.
Still trying to get caught up with everything I should have been doing and it's cold maybe not for some of you but temps in the 20's and highs in the 40's or 50's is cold for around here and for me.
So has your luck really been that bad I sure hope not? 🥹

Glad you're still with us! Jury duty is no fun either but it is needed in this country which is a freedom most of the world does not get.

Pretty sure Mother Nature lost her dang mind with the weather this season, but the days are getting longer, spring is another day closer and all will be right as rain soon enough!

Boy that really $ucks Jerry. I'm not sure what "Socking time" is, but I'll take your word for it that it's bad.

I'm kind of lucky. I live in one county, but my mailing address is in another county. So I never get called for jury duty, and if I do for the county that my mailing address is in. Then I just tell them that I live in a different county, and bam-oh. Instant disqualification.

Without going into a lot of detail my luck and my brothers luck have been awful for the last four months. At some point I'll probably post details. Hope you luck turns around for you.

Sorry to hear. hope you are on the mend and doing better.

I liked your post for support, not because I like things sucking!

We should all remember when a person out in public we dont know isn't very happy, we dont know what they are going through. It's is a rare person that never has anything bad happen in their life, we are not alone in that sense.

The last year has sucked for me. Got sick for the first time in years about this time last year and it was a weird one, couldn't stand anything with vinegar in it for weeks after. Then my heart went nuts, both rate and BP...probably a result of whatever crazy virus I had. Then my mom suddenly dies in May, leaving my dad a widower...that wasn't supposed to happen that way...never seen him so vulnerable in my life. My freaking heart meds suck, feel tired and crappy all the time and now both of my shoulders have decided to hurt...badly. Probably arthritis triggered by the heart med, is my guess. But I still have a driveway the length of a football field to clear, shoveling to do which is hard to do because its all like snow/ice now. It snowed last Saturday and we might actually be able to drive out of the property by the end of next week. So yea...we all got something. And thats just the last 12 months, trust me, the suck goes back decades for me, but there has been some good sprinkled in.

I'll never forget one of Americas greatest radio hosts (RIP, the suck found him too) who said no matter how bad things got, he never complains because it doesn't do anything to resolve the problem. I try to emulate that, but man do I want to snivel sometimes!

Here's hoping your luck gets much better. Cheers...(I do like to drown my issues a little!)

Sorry to read about your Mother passing that sucks. Hopefully your on the mend but I hear you about meds they have me on something or somethings that keep me feeling tired I don't sleep well anyhow and with the meds going nights with zero sleep even though I tried to sleep all night. Never had a thing wrong with my heart but in the last 5 months that has changed might have us on some of the same meds. I don't have the driveway to shovel but on acreage there's something that should have been done already. Hope the good becomes more than a sprinkle for you

Well Jerry, don't feel so bad... I just got home from a 2 day stay to ER and hospital! Multiple 1st and 2nd degree burns. Mostly on right arm, some on left, and some but not many on face. Burnt hair stinks! Am now clean shaven, no mustache or beard. Had a 250,000 but heater ignight some dust which then ignited the pit gasses. Was a complete fireball ! Lucky to be alive! Don't know how much damage was done yet. Sadly about an hour after the first one exploded, there was a second one blow while I was in the ER. Even a worse fire.
My appointment with Lincoln burn center is next week.

Damn very sorry to hear that Ryan. Glad you are still alive that must have been a bad thing to go through. I will hope and pray that they can reduce the pain for you I know that hurts. Also that there no infections and you heal the best possible. If there was a second one I'm glad you weren't there. Don't go doing things you shouldn't be doing to high a risk of infection. If your ready for a laugh I think we need to change your name to Fireball sorry if you weren't ready for that but knowing you I'm thinking you were.

No problems! I had a sense of humor in ER also... but they managed to keep the pain down. I cleared a two foot alley when I dove for it... guess you can do anything if someone lights a fire under your ass! Bad thing was the entire pit underneath me engulfed in flames. Had an awesome group of nurses during my stay!

well hell there Jerry.
I know last year wasn't on your fond memories list.
I was hoping this year was going to be better for you

I just a kick in the jewels today.
I discovered the obituary for a good friend of mine back in Minnesota.

Oh S#$& Ryan.
You are also lucky to be alive!! Lose any hogs in the fires?
Hope your recovery goes well.

As per the other thread I posted in on the winter weather, my luck has been just splendid lol. I guess it wasn't bad since I didn't end up laying there freezing or end up in the hospital from injuries.

I was in the exact same situation for over a decade. Physically in one county, but for reasons only NJ understood, my mailing address was in the next county over. Apparently that happened a lot in the state. I wouldn't have minded serving, but whenever I was called I had to tell them I didn't live in their county. Instant disqualifacation, as you said.

The post office understood the address mismatch, but UPS, Fedex, or friends trying to find the house for the first time had an awful time of it..

Saint Es is top notch! I hope they get you squared up right away!

Thank you for your service in one of our country's most sacred duties. It could be worse, I once spent 6 weeks on a trial, only to be excused at the end as an alternate juror, with no input into the conclusion.

HOLY CRAP, RYAN!!!
That sounds horrific, what exactly happened, and did you have the required people watching over you outside the pit? If not, someone is in deep doo doo. I hope you heal up quickly, burns are no joke.
Sorry to hear about this.
