Enjoying a nice day off work, decided to smoke some ribs today.

5 hrs and 13 minutes @ 235°. Kingsford bricks and a veggie oil based lighter fluid and hickory wood chunks.

My dad and I are completely baffled by the absence of the smoke ring. They had a perfect bite, perfect tenderness but not fall off the bone and they were delicious.

But why is there no smoke ring? 🥴

I made up a plate for a friend of mine who is a truck driver. He’ll pass through in about 2 hrs and 45 mins so I’m going to run over to the off ramp by the highway and give him his food. A dinner salad, pork n beans, cottage cheese and 2 dinner rolls are in a bag in the fridge along with the plate of ribs.
