Hi there everyone, I've been grilling since I was 5 years old and decided it was time to move on to smoking cause smoked meats have always been my favorite so I went out and got me a smoke hollow propane. I'm planning on smoking a roast this week for my wife, can I get suggestions for the best roast to buy and maybe some really good recipes? I'll also take any hints and tips to help me using this thing for the first time. Thanks everyone

Welcome aboard. I’m sure you will find endless ideas and a vast wealth of smoking knowledge here at SMF. For a first smoke it’s hard to go wrong with a pork roast. So much fat that it’s very difficult to get wrong. Super easy to make and the taste. It’s oh so good.

First welcome to the site and congratulations on the new smoker. Second I'm sure we can help, but you'll need to tell us what type of roast and what you want for a finished product.

Welcome to the site. As others mentioned, you could do a pork roast or a tri tip. Tri tips are super easy and are always awesome when smoked.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the welcome. I think I will go with a pork roast, I'm gonna get it done on Friday and try using one of my homemade rubs. I'll let everyone here know how it came out, with some pics as long as I don't turn the thing into carbon . Thanks again
