Has anyone else noticed good prices for meat and seafood at Kroger grocery store recently? At my local store, crab is on sale, and I’ve found trout for $9.99, which is much cheaper compared to Publix’s $15.99. I’ve also been getting great deals on chicken and beef, even though they’re not on sale. I participate in the survey also after my shopping with my purchase receipt. Is this just a local thing, or are others finding similar deals?
Thank You. krogerfeedback

I'll keep an eye out. Kroger is one of the chains in our area. I hate the way they do their sales, too much thinking, online coupons and buy this to get that crap, so I dont shop there often. But, whenever I plan a trip "in to town" I look at sales at all the stores and will power shop, hitting different stores just for the deals. Sometimes Kroger has some very good meat prices. I almost never buy any meat at full price.

If Costco keeps going upscale, other grocery stores might be trying to lure back the more budget-conscious customers. Sidenote: if I ever afford myself one of these, it is NOT going up to their recommendation of 145°F:

They have whole turkey at .99 and pork loin on BOGO. Smithfield bacon at 4.99. Also BB ribs at 1.99 weekend only.

With the exceptions of turkeys at Thanksgiving and Christmas along with corned beef at St. Patty's day and maybe ham at Easter the only meat or seafood I remember Kroger having good prices on was round steak about 30 years ago when they sold it cheaper than ground beef.
There used to be 2 stores in town that regularly undercut Kroger by better than half on snow crab legs and shrimp.
Sure miss those days.

Picked up a pack of the Smithfield bacon a couple weeks ago and so salty I couldn't eat it, they didn't have the $1.99 brisket sale this year, hopefully they will do the Prime rib sales around the holidays.

Older thread start.
I've never found genuine Wagyu at the Costco stores I shop. Must be a lot of overpaid people in the DC area to afford that premium cut?
No Kroger stores in central FL but i see their delivery trucks.

I lightly poach commercial bacon to reduce the salt (and sugars) to make it edible for my taste.

I don't expect any bargains on the prime rib holiday sales this year.

Sales prices are good but beef still up there, but so is GFS. Turkey is $.99/lb.

We haven't bought beef in I can't remember how long. We have a City Market which falls under Kroger in the "big town" about 20 miles away from the house. I was in there the other day and rib eyes (no bone) were $20.99/lb. Nope, no way, and I love a good rib eye on the grill now and then. I can wait until the prices come down. If they don't I guess I'm done with beef period. Haven't seen any substantial meats on sale that I would load up on, either.

Well, finally caught a break on chuckies at the local Kroger, but it was a digital coupon and guess who had to walk out and get his phone out of the truck. I always park in the farthest parking spots to avoid door dings and get what little exercise I do. Anyway, $8.99 "sale" with the shoppers card, $5.99 with the digital coupon. Oh... and plain sale on St Louis ribs at $2.49. I HATE those stupid digital coupons.

Seems like I screw up catching the iten to put in my cart somehow, looks like it did but when rung up its not, then you have to to the service desk for a adjustment, at my age I don’t like games very much and to me thats what this is, well they have started a investigation into the meat packing companies which should have already been done, most are owned by out of country folks. We will see what happens

Well they have finally approved a Kroger location in my town so will be more convenient to shop and compare deals between them, Food Lion and Publix.
FL has been consistently lower on meat prices but not always the best selection.
