Tonight, I was responding to Grande's question regarding suggestions for smoking books. I referred him to the forum site to which we have been posting. Then, just to check the status of the site, I accessed it and found that there was only one book review. I know there have been many more postings but they are all gone. Can anyone tell me (and Grande) where they are? Are they destroyed after some time frame or perhaps moved to an archive section??? Anyone have any intel on this. How about it Jeff??

Hey Rich,
Thanks for the response. I went back to the site that you (and I) were referencing (http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...play.php?f=27). Unfortunately, I seemed to have my head where it should not have been. All I can say is that it was dark and somewhat smelly there.

Anyway, what I found when I again visited the site, is that you must plug in the search parameters you want. I simply went to search and I got only one reference. But by activating the right "buttons" I can pull up all the posts that have been made there from the "beginning" or other intervals in between.

I feel much better now. After thinking that after some time frame the threads might be purged (to save file space) to finding that all is well ..... all the data is still there ..... from the "beginning." My somewhat embarrassed apology for thinking that we would compromise the SMF in such a way. Hooray for preserved data. Thanks Guys.
