I hadn’t had biscuits and gravy for a very long time, it was something we had often as a boy, so I decided to make a batch for Saturday morning breakfast.

I baked a batch of biscuits using this recipe. they turned out well.

1 pound of homemade sausage pressed to about 1/2 inch thick.

Fry on one side over medium heat until browned.

Flip and fry the other side until brown.

Chop up the fried sausage.

Add to the skillet
6 tablespoons flour
1 qt of milk
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon of onion salt

Stir until it thickens to your liking

Serve over biscuits. (I add a heavy dose of salt and black pepper after it’s on my plate, because the wife doesn’t like as much salt and pepper as I do, that way we can both have it how we like it!)

As always, thanks for looking!

God bless…

Looks great Mike. A yum anyway you serve it.
I actually prefer plain gravy or sausage gravy over bread or toasted bread. It was my favorite growing up.
Wasn't introduced to biscuits until I was in Kentucky for training. Another yum to the palate.

Yes SIrreee.... Love me some as well... But I add three over medium eggs right on top...

We have a restaurant here that has what they call Jack's Special... They put some nice crispy home fries on the biscuit first then cover with the sausage gravy...

Yum! Both those additions sound amazing! I’m going to try that next time I make them!

Thanks Keith!

That looks delicious! The only thing I don't like is I can't eat near enough anymore... but when I was younger and skinny, gosh dang could I put away the food!

My day is probably coming, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts!

i just started doing the "flour on top method by "suggestion" of he the missus. I always used to make a"gravy" then add the sausage. your way (this way) is much easier and foolproof

Oh man, I'd dive into that RIGHT NOW!!! A few eggs please. Dare ya to try chicken bouillon in place of the salt next time.

Restaurant across the street from my office is well known for their spin on it too. There's also egg, cheese, and bacon pieces in there. I sub the biscuits for rye toast on side. Nautical themed place since we're on the water and they call it "The Shipwreck".
