I love thermoworks, I love RFX and dropped a full meater setup and Flameboss for a Billows RFX combo.
I have used the WSM for 15 years and many many cooks so I know all of the details of this equipment and cooking.
I cannot get the Billows to work as well with respect to managing temp as the Flameboss did. I could within reason (fueled right etc), get the flamboss to peg a temperature and really hold it very well at set temp.
The Billows is just way more crude it seems. The Flamboss ran a variable speed fan, the Billows is either full on or pulsing and responds way too early to approaching set temp and will sit 25 degrees below a set point.....then blow way too hard and actually lose temp....which causes you to have to back off the differential, which stops the fan over blowing....and you end up chasing it. Making me crazy. I have tried multiple times to engage with support and they are great and have replaced stuff and validated that my setup is as they prescribe.....I am starting to just think its a flawed algorithm plain and simple.
