Danbono, I don't use one and haven't seen that particular hinge. I have seen posts about the Unknown BBQ stainless steal WSM hinge, and gets great reviews. I think that's the name.

A lot of the guys have put hinges on the top of their WSM's.
Not sure if that's the one they use, but if it works it sure beats taking the lid off & putting it on a table.

They have a hinge that has a pin you can remove in case you want to take the lid off.

Bummer I already ordered the hinge, # 900030. Don't know "IF" it has the pin?
Thanks Dan

Not here yet..How is the Digi DX2 working out?
THanks Dan

It was absolutely necessary when I was using Kingsford Original briquettes. That little fan used to work its tail off, especially the longer the smoke went on.

Now that I've switched to Royal Ridge briquettes, I merely use the Guru as a falling temp catcher. On many of my last few smokes of 8 hours or less, I didn't even hook it up. I do like the confidence it gives me on overnight smokes that I don't have to worry about the fire going out, not that it ever has. On an recent overnight smoke of 225F with RO Ridge, the temp stayed at 222-226F all night. The Guru didn't come on until the next morning, 13 hours into the smoke, when the chamber temp started falling due to ash buildup.

Hi Thanks for the info on the Digi Q..Going to try an over night first before getting the Digi.

You would have been better off ordering this hinge. It is built specifically for the WSM and works like a champ. Don't know anything about the one you ordered, hope it works out for you.

WSM Hinge

Hi The the hinge from Weber was $58 this one was only $12 .According to the vedio it does work just as good. Plus with this hinge you can still use the Weber cover.
Thanks Dan

Let us know how that one works for you, I’d be curious.
Hi All Put the hinge on today, with a minor problem. When I go to close the lid I have pull it towards me some. I'm thinking a small adjustment will fix that problem, other wise the the hinge worked. Much better then looking for a place to place the lid.
I'm thinking either the top part has to come down some or the bottom has to come up some. Bout 1/4" to play with. Will post back when I get around to the fix.
Dan

Looks good, I've been thinking of putting a hinge on my 22 WSM. I'm just a little hesitant on drilling into it.

Chris.
