A couple weeks ago I wanted to mix things up a bit and posted a breakfast I made. That actually garnered a considerable amount of attention and the general consensus was that we need more breakfast posts...since it is the most important meal of the day
The only take-away folks had with my breakfast was that there was no gravy of any sort. Well, they were right but only being two of us, how much food did I really need to make? Well,
chef jimmyj
came right behind me with his breakfast: farm fresh eggs from that morning as well as sausage gravy and biscuits. That kinda got my salivary glands working overtime. I just LOVE sausage gravy and biscuits!! Tracy left for church this morning and I wasn't facing a mountain of yard work or a two hour post to the forum so decided to make a nice breakfast.
Started with home fries since they take the longest. Taters, onions, Serrano pepper, a bit of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic
This is a veggie topping I make for the eggs with tomatoes, green peppers, onions, butter, garlic and black pepper
Homemade sausage going for the sausage gravy
This is a happy cook top
Eggs beaten with a splash of milk and a bunch of shredded cheddar cheese
Veggie topping coming along nicely
Sausage gravy about done
Home fries looking real good!!
Eggs into the electric skillet
Biscuits all done
Here I am: ready to chow down. Got the cheesy eggs topped with the veggies, sausage gravy, biscuits, and home fries. Life is good!!
I just love breakfast food, The weekends are the only time I get to actually cook and eat it though. I'm always on the road during the week and just stop someplace and grab a quick burger. The only problem with a meal like this is you just kinda go comatose and don't really feel like doing anything except taking a nap....especially after going back for seconds of everything
I'm stuffed, lazy, and useless,
Robert
