A couple weeks ago I wanted to mix things up a bit and posted a breakfast I made. That actually garnered a considerable amount of attention and the general consensus was that we need more breakfast posts...since it is the most important meal of the day :emoji_wink: The only take-away folks had with my breakfast was that there was no gravy of any sort. Well, they were right but only being two of us, how much food did I really need to make? Well, chef jimmyj chef jimmyj came right behind me with his breakfast: farm fresh eggs from that morning as well as sausage gravy and biscuits. That kinda got my salivary glands working overtime. I just LOVE sausage gravy and biscuits!! Tracy left for church this morning and I wasn't facing a mountain of yard work or a two hour post to the forum so decided to make a nice breakfast.

Started with home fries since they take the longest. Taters, onions, Serrano pepper, a bit of oil, salt, pepper, and garlic

This is a veggie topping I make for the eggs with tomatoes, green peppers, onions, butter, garlic and black pepper

Here I am: ready to chow down. Got the cheesy eggs topped with the veggies, sausage gravy, biscuits, and home fries. Life is good!!

I just love breakfast food, The weekends are the only time I get to actually cook and eat it though. I'm always on the road during the week and just stop someplace and grab a quick burger. The only problem with a meal like this is you just kinda go comatose and don't really feel like doing anything except taking a nap....especially after going back for seconds of everything :emoji_laughing:

I'm stuffed, lazy, and useless,

Hope you tried my Biscuits. Canned is ok but the real deal Buttermilk Biscuits are hard to beat...JJ

I think you probably responded before I finished the post. I hit the wrong button and sent it too soon, then tried to get it edited and finished before anybody saw it. I did not make them and I apologize. We have the last bag of the Pillsbury Grands frozen biscuits I need to burn through before going a different direction with biscuits. Rest assured though, I will make them!!

Looking good ! Seems like most people go with the Grands anymore! My Mom would just grab some of this and a little of that and toss it all together for the BEST biscuit's I ever ate..

I love a big hearty breakfast like that! I’m comatose from just looking at it!! Awesome!

It’s been awhile since we had a slammer like that, usually only on the weekends and my wife and I schedules have not matched up lately.

That looks so good and I love that idea for a tomato topping on the eggs. I like salsa on eggs but hate putting it on cold. Definitely stealing that :)

Final plate is looking great. Homemade Biscuits take a little work but are hard to beat...JJ

Yep, they are pretty good. I used tomake my own but these are good enough that I hardly think it's worth the time and mess to make them from scratch. I do like Chef Jimmy's recipe though and when this bag is gone, I'm gonna give his a run.

Way to go Robert!

Really nice looking breakfast. :emoji_thumbsup:

Appreciate it John...both the kind words and the LIKE. I'm finally getting up from my nap

Thanks Joe!! As stated above, I'm finally getting up from my nap :emoji_laughing: Nah...packing up some Christmas gifts to get sent out.

Yes sir nothing like breakfast food which we do a lot for supper as we don't always have time in the morning.

Warren

We used to do breakfast for supper also when I was a kid, usually at my request. Dad was more of a traditionalist and didn't like the idea but he gave in once in a while. I've just always loved breakfast food!!

Great looking breakfast there Buddy!
Nice work!

Thank you Al. IT was nice not to be staring a ton of things in the face needing to be done and have time to make something nice. Tracy got home from church and just smiled when she came in the kitchen and saw what I had going. That was all she needed to say :emoji_wink:

Hell Yeah!

Thank you John. I'd trade you a months worth of those breakfasts for one of yours with chicken fried venison steak and eggs though. I couldn't stop looking at that pic. It was just so appetizing and comforting to look at a meal like that.

Thank you for the kind words. I put that out there in hopes of somebody finding it appealing. It's really easy to make and adds a whole different dimension to the meal. We used to have that regularly when I was growing up, but it kinda went by the wayside for about 35 years. We had a couple friends come visit for the weekend a few years back and I wanted to make a nice breakfast for them. Dug this out of mothballs and it's been a staple ever since. Both of us just love it!!

Thank you Jimmy. I had a feeling you replied before I finished editing the thread after my initial screw up. I do plan to give your biscuits a run when this batch is gone. Truth be told, I feel like I'm cheating myself and Tracy using store bought frozen biscuits, even though they are pretty darned good.

Robert

Nothing wrong with store bought, especially if you find good ones. Keep the Grands on hand since you are so busy. But when you have the time make them from scratch...JJ
