AMNTS and beer can chicken?

I've been using the AMNTS with a MES30 and have been very happy with the results. I'd like to do a beer can chicken with the AMNTS. In the instructions for the AMNTS they recommend not using any other liquid in the smoker. I'm assuming the extra moisture would deter the pellets from smoking. 

Have folks used a beer inside the chicken in combination with a AMNTS? Just wondering how it worked out. Thanks for any info.

just make a foil tent over top of the AMNTS (if you don't do so already) to keep any drippings from getting on the pellets... you'll be good to go ....

If you have problems then consider doing the mailbox mod.... keeps the AMNTS out of the smoker all together...
