Just ordered my Tube Smoker AMNPTS!  I'm pretty dang excited to see this thing in action in my vert. smoker.

Now, I know they have great service and everything, but I really need a local place for pellets.  I know I can go to Tractor Supply and get corncob pellets, can I also get wood pellets there?  I'm near San Antonio.  Also looking for a place to buy some of the Jack Daniels pellets.  I used to buy them a few at a time at Wal-Mart, but haven't seen them in a while.

Why do you need to get them locally? Todd ships very fast and you usually get your order in a couple of days!

I have noticed Cabelas and Bass Pro carry a variety of pellets.  I have NO idea as to the quality of these but if either are in your area, it might be an option.  I never thought I'd "Order" pellets online and pay for shipping, but after trying Todd's Pitmaster Choice, I am a total online convert!

Locally because I never plan anything ahead...  And usually when I want to smoke something is right when I find out that I'm out of wood...

I'll likely order some from Todd, but I want to keep my options open.

Besides, I didn't see corncob pellets at Todds ;)

Ever smoke with corncobs?  Different, but grandpa's smokehouse used to be where we put all the left over cobs we had.  I loved that smell when he'd get it fired up.

I think that's why I like smokin meat.

I picked up the JD Charcoal Pellets over a year ago at Gander Mtn, but haven't seen them anywhere here locally. You might try Ace Hardware, True Value, or any specialty BBQ/Grilling stores. The 1 lb bag I got at Gander Mtn was right at $5.00 for 1 lb, so for value, Todd would be my choice.

I got both Bourbon Barrel Pellets and Corn Cob Pellets

The Bourbon Barrel Pellets come from ground Jim Beam Barrels.  I can't call them "Jim Beam Pellets" unless I pay a ridiculous amount of money for the trademark.

Did I mention the pellets com from Jim Beam Barrels?

Do what you want to but I will say this If we do not support Todd in everyway that we can on here...One day he may not be here and that will be a very sad day...

JD Charcoal Pellets burn pretty hot and quick

Got some to test

Personally, if I want a charcoal flavor, I'll fire up the Weber Kettle

LOL!  I will make sure to include some of those in my next order.

BTW, the only pellets I buy locally now are Bear Mountain alder. All their pellets contain some alder, along with the flavor wood, so I guess I'm safe if alder is the flavor I want.

For the rest, I'm happy with Todd's 100% flavor wood pellets.

Todd provides great products and even better service. He's always just a PM away and he answers right away!

You can solve the problem by ordering plenty and keeping a stock on hand. I usually check my stock as a part of the clean up routine and re-order when I'm running out.

I can't speak highly enough about Todd, even though I have had only one conversation with him about an order, and he was very easy to talk to and ship my order promptly.  I recommend A-Maze-N Products to the tenth degree!!

OKOK...  I'm convinced...  Todd, I'm ordering!

Post edit:

So to get the value, you REALLY need to stock up.  Otherwise, you're paying more for shipping than you do for the pellets.  This just got way more expensive than I originally thought it would.  Not that I'm not going to do it, I'm just sayin it's gonna cost me a honey-do or two in order to keep from sleepin with the dogs.
