Amazen Question

Being a newby to smoking with a new MES 30 and soon to buy an Amazen product want to know if you can also burn the small chips my grocery carries.

In the AMAZEN ... no

The A-MAZE-N-PELLET-SMOKER(AMNPS) is designed to burn Pellets or Sawdust

I have used the chips w-m sells for their smokers in my clone pellet tray.... They need to be REALLY-REALLY dry.... of course I have so much time on my hands I try anything.... Dave

No need to burn questionable stuff?  The AMAZN stuff is so good and so reasonably priced?

No offending perceived at all - questions are meant to be asked and answered here!  It's all about gaining the right tools to perfect YOUR smoking.

It's a reasonable question and one that may help someone else

Honestly, I've never been successful burning chips, but that does not mean they won't burn.

Chips that come from a retailer, typically are about 20% moisture. 

In-order for anything to burn in the AMNS or AMNPS, it has to be around 8% moisture.

Pellets are usually cheaper than chips.
