Aluminized steel ok for smoker chimney?

I'm about to have a custom mandrel-bent tube made to replace the factory chimney on my OKJ Highland. My options are aluminized steel for $35 or stainless for $50-60. I'm going to paint the outside black, but the internal surface will remain unpainted. Is there any reason to avoid the aluminized steel since it's just the smoke stack?

Yep... It's safe.... It's on the down stream side of the system....

If you spray it with Pam, after the first smoke or two it will season itself black anyway.
