Advice on purchasing a Smoker/Grill

I am thinking about getting a Big Green Egg, I am a neophyte in the smoking business, and was looking for advice.  My Brother-in-Law has a "The Good-One Open Range" which he also likes alot.  Any advice, or if you could point me to an existing thread, would be appreciated.

As for the Big Green Egg, it was my preferred choice when I was looking into smokers as my friend has one and he is very pleased with it. Personally, I found them a little pricey, but if this is within your price range then you can be sure you have a very good smoker. You can find additional info HERE
