I know "hot" or "spicy" is subjective, so having said that...

Stopped at a small local grocery on my way home this afternoon and, lo and behold, there was a box of AC Legg's sausage seasoning by the meat counter, so I grabbed a pkg and a fatty butt for sausage patties.

Thing is, I didn't notice it was blend #109 (nor did I notice the thing said "HOT" on the label!) until I got home.

Of those of you who've used this blend (#109), would you say it would be VERY hot to someone who can't tolerate much more than, say, raw onion? I like hot breakfast sausage just fine, but hubs won't touch it if he even suspects it's "too hot".

Thanks!

Haven't tired it but go buy maybe a pound or so of already ground pork NO SEASONING in it,,,, add a little of the 109 and do a fry patty test,,, if too hot only use half in your batch??

Good luck and let us know

I made the sausage. 45oz of ground pork + 1oz of the ACL109...turned out great! There was some heat, but it was a "low smoulder" type of heat that lasted only a couple of minutes after eating it.

Hubs thought it was a snitch too hot, but liked the flavor so much he said he could deal with the heat, so it's a winner.

Next time, though, I'll actually read the label below the name before I buy! :)

You can't go wrong with any of the A.C. Leggs products... I think their "hot" stuff is perfect.. You can "feel" it but it lingers just right...
