ABT prep

This will be my first batch of ABTs and I had two questions. I hear everyone using lil smokeys, are these things that I can buy? Also, do i have to cook the sausage first if im putting it into the cream cheese mixture?

You can find lil smokies at any grocery store (usually by the deli dept. where the packaged salami and pepperoni is) - they are pre-cooked.

On my last ABT's I used half a maple sausage link (uncooked) along with my cream cheese mix and it cooked perfectly fine.

Little smokies are also known as cocktail sausage & yes you buy them.

They come pre-cooked so all you are really doing is heating them.

I also use a couple of slices of pepperoni rolled up in place of the smokey.

Yes sir those little smokey's make a good addition to the Abt's. You just mix your cream and whatever togther and pit it in the jalapenos and then you plave the little smokey into the mixture and then wrap them with thin and cheap bacon. The just smoke them for a couple of hours. Then It's enjoy.

Thanks everyone, I just went to pathmark to buy the stuff and they were out of lil smokeys. I bought some ground sausage and i figure im going to brown it first since the lil smokeys would have been already cooked.
