So I was thinking fried CB sandwiches for lunch today. As I’m wandering towards the chest freezer I’m thinking to myself, “plain, black pepper, or piri piri?”.

As I delve into the freezer, there isn’t a bag of CB in sight. They were all in a gallon ziplock bag. I tore through that thing three times. Nothing. And then I vaguely remember I tossed a couple of bags a while ago that had old ducks I used for training in them. They were in the same spot I had put the Canadian Bacon. Four pounds of deliciousness went out with the trash...:(

Dang man :(

Last year I spent a whole bunch of money for a prime full beef tenderloin, trimmed it and cut it into steaks. We had two that night and vac packed the rest for the freezer. Later I requested a filet for my birthday dinner. Dear wife tore through two freezers and couldn't find any of the tenderloin steaks. Best guess is she tossed them by accident. I feel your pain brother.

That hurts, but my neighbor lost a whole beef. He bought a yearling, raised it for 8 months, killed it, butchered it, vac pac and froze everything in a brand new freezer. You guessed it--the brand new freezer quit working and everything thawed while he was away. Nothing was salvageable. They had 2 steaks out of all that work and expense. I damn near cried when I heard that.

Thank you all for commiserating with me during my sorrow and shame. There’s a loin thawing as I type this...
